Set adrift off the Mozambique coast, Madagascar is out of the beaten track for yatching, in spite of beeing a one-of-a-kind destination. The nortwest of the island, and more specifically the Nosy Be area, is the best place for a yatch cruise. The weather is great 10 months of the year, and distances between the different islands or place of interest are not too long. It is incredibly relaxing to explore this area.
Typically an island-hoping cruise will take you first to the surrounding islands of Nosy Be like Nosy Tanikely, Nosy Mamoko, Nosy Komba, and then to one of the two amazing archipelago of Nosy Mitsio in the north, or Nosy Radama in the south.
Onboard, expect to see mating whales, palm tree-lined beaches, nesting hawksbill turtles, mangrove swamps, tropical birds, endangered lemurs, no-end of tropical fish, flying foxes, dazzling lagoons and local villages. Explore rivers, bays and inlets with the on board kayaks or paddles. Meet the local people venturing onland in typical fishermen villages still run by traditional queens and kings.
